During the PAN Africa Event in Accra, Ghana we had a discussion on Youth development in the conversation that make different.

I found out that in most of the African countries youth have the same problem; unemployment, and lack of enough education.

Youth in Tanzania are encouraged to join in groups and produce handcrafts, and agricultural products to tackle the unemployment problem.  Which they do, the problem is where will they find a market for their products?

I would like to hear from others about this issue.

Thanks for your post Sarah.  I think this is a global issue.  And with unemployment rife across the continent, youths of today seem to end up on the streets, often destitute and resorting to crime to survive.

We all need to think of ways of keeping them occupied, with a financial incentive.  Community Centres where youth can go to express their creativity and individuality is one option, with these centres holding market days for them to sell their wares.
