Hello all. It’s a pleasure to come back after a long period of silence due to the preparation of my PhD defence held on 07/07/07 and memebers of Interaction group may not have forgotten about it since they knew i was preparing for it since. I’d like to tell them all that i successfully got my PhD now.
This being said, i very well appreciated Mumbi’s contribution when he asserted that Africa’s future is with China but at the same time i beg to differ. There is no doubt that China’s cooperation with africa is far more beneficial than that of former colonizers based on the shameful aid system which is responsible for the legendary debt stimulating corruption factors and corruption itself.
But as former french president General de Gaulle once put it “ nations have no friends but interests”. This being gospel to me, china’s cooperation with africa though profitable to our countries, is still not that magic stick believed to be able to develop Africa. Africa has to count on Africa first before counting on any country. China was poorer than some AFRICAN countries but they are now playing major roles in the world and they are becoming the world’s next superpower, can we or not do better? My answer is yes we can do better. So Africa’s future is contingent on Africa but not china. God helps those who help themselves.

Hellow leader,
I am very much impressed with your analysis starting with the tittle of your topic.
If we can just try to visit to how other nations do value and praise their Identities and nationalitis, until when our future should be lied on the hands of other? ‘not only China’
For Instance; if we look at the whole process of branding number of assistance donated by external donors such as our friends - Americans’ It is the must to be accompanied by a phrase tittled as ‘For American People’, i.e USAID for American people.
The question comes, when are we going to stand on our own in handling this dependence syndrom?
