I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and an experienced race relations trainer and advisor and have appeared on television, radio and in print commenting on race issues. My career commenced in local authority care for adolescents and I later moved into Higher Education management where he worked in an inner city university in London for 14 years. I am at present participating in the planning and implementation of the organisational move towards children’s trusts in line with the borough wide agenda. I have travelled to the USA, the Caribbean and African Universities to present papers on student support provision and to make comparative analyses on the provision of Higher education. My interest in international affairs has continued, notably as a participant in this Interaction 2005/06 African Leadership Development Programme. I have also assisted in the selection process for the 2006/7 programme. I have sat on the board of trustees for a number of organisations including the Psychotherapists for Social Responsibility, the Sir William Boreman (educational) Foundation and the Charlton Athletic Race Equality Partnership. I currently sit on the board of Waterloo Community Counselling Centre in south east London. |
