PANEL is an international group of young African leaders who have participated in and been inspired by the British Council's Interaction programme, which is being implemented in 19 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
The main purpose of the Dakar meeting was be to discuss the vision, mission and objectives of PANeL, and its status, structures, membership conditions, values and strategies.

A seminar to consider differing African experiences of multi-national or ethnic federalism. Political theorists have lately been discussing the accommodation of ethnic and cultural diversity in democratic states, and the recent history of multi-ethnic and multi-nation states, in Africa and around the world. The seminar will take place in the light of these discussions.

The Literature event themed “Taking Cameroon Writing in English Beyond Borders” was organised by the British Council in collaboration with the Cameroon Anglophone Writers’ Association (ACWA) from 23-27 January 2006. The main activities included a series of workshops and literary presentations to support the Third Annual congress of the Cameroon Anglophone Writers and to close phase II of the British Council Crossing Borders project.
